Textures and UVs纹理和UV
Textures are pixel maps, usually image files, you use to control surface values such as color, opacity, displacement, and so on.

To map textures to surfaces, Houdini must know which parts of the pixel map should appear on which parts of the surface. You do this by puttingUV coordinates attributes on the surface, which map to pixels in the texture. In Houdini, you need to add UVs to all surface types. NURBS surfaces do not automatically have UV coordinates.
–要映射纹理到曲面上,Houdini必须要指定像素贴图中哪个部分会出现在曲面的哪个部位上。在Houdini中,你需要给所有曲面添加UV。NURBS曲面不会自动产生UV坐标。
